Just a short article about Bitcoin this week. Lately, bitcoin has really moved up and down over the last week. I still don’t recommend it to anyone who is not comfortable with technology or online transactions. I am recommending it as a way to teach your kids about how to build credit and save money. The apps are free but the discussions you will have with your children are priceless. I am not endorsing setting up an account for kids but rather watching the market with your kids. This week they learned about how you can own part of a company, do nothing in the company, live no where near the company, and make money by purchasing part of a company. Next week we discuss blue chips stocks but I will keep using the bitcoin app as an illustration. Most phones have the stock market app preloaded (not bitcoin) and that could be used as a tool. The clearer you are able to explain this to your kids they better off they will be in the future. Showing your kids how either market works will help you explain general investments to anyone.
